BetterProposals is a web based system that does not require loading any software to use. Most input is
made with a click of the mouse. Your proposal is delivered to you via email in an Adobe Acrobat PDF format.

The starting point for BetterProposals is when you finish your workstation count and takeoffs of cable distance.

Once you login to the users area you will be led through a series of web pages requesting information about the project and how you want to build it. The series of pages are broken it the following sections.

1. Identification and naming of telecommunications rooms, closets, or cabinets.

2. Definition of station cables and workstations.

3. Workstation count for station cables terminating in each telecommunications rooms.

4. Definition of backbone cable between telecommunications rooms.

5. Creation of telecommunication room layouts and rack elevations

6. Workstation and backbone cable quantities can be entered with any of the following methods
   1. total cable required including including up and down and scrap
   2. average cable length including including up and down and scrap
   3. total cable required to cover the horizontal distance to the workstations
   4. average cable required to cover the horizontal distance to the workstation
7. BetterProposals will automatically write and e-mail you
   1. a summary of the work
   2. a description of general work practices
   3. a detail of horizontal cabling with a picture and count of each workstation outlet by telecommunication room
   4. a detail of backbone cables and termination methods
   5. a description of each telecommunications closet including a rack elevation drawing
   6. a complete bill of materials broken down by telecommunications room and totaled
